HEALTH EQUITY INITIATIVES: CommonHealth ACTION (CHA) was founded as a non-profit in 2004, in response to the growing evidence base for the need to increase community-based action on social determinants of health. CHA views health as a social phenomenon, not merely the absence of disease. Through our services and community public health expertise, CommonHealth ACTION helps organizations address the social determinants of health. We work with people, communities, and organizations to develop sustainable policy and programmatic solutions that create the conditions in which people can be healthy.

Unnatural Causes provides a useful learning tool for our Place Matters work with the Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies, Health Policy Institute and the W.K. Kellogg Foundation.
