HEALTH EQUITY INITIATIVES: Health Equity Initiative is a collaborative effort integrating research, community interventions, and training for faculty, students and community partners. Our research is socially engaged, sensitive to the contexts of disenfranchised communities, and intended to inform policy and practice. We design, implement and evaluate evidence-based interventions that enhance community strengths. We provide training opportunities that bring together researchers, practitioners, students and community advocates in a reflective experience that motivates further scholarship, involvement and activism.
