Pre-order UNNATURAL CAUSES DVD!

UNNATURAL CAUSES is now available for pre-order from www.newsreel.org or toll free at 877-811-7495. The entire four-hour, seven-episode series will come packaged on one DVD. Menus will allow selection of episodes as well as segments within.

Orders will start to ship the first week of April.

Pricing (including public performance rights; no home video):

  • $295 for colleges, universities, corporations and government agencies. If five or more titles are purchased at the same time, each copy will be discounted to $199.
  • $79.95 for high schools, public libraries, and nonprofit community-based organizations (such as church groups and civic organizations)
  • $49 per DVD for orders of 50 or more. Please call 877-811-7495 to place bulk orders.

    • The ISAIAH / Gamaliel interfaith network of 90 congregations in central Minnesota is initiating a "Transformative Health Movement" to drive the conversation, and ultimately state health policy, beyond debates over health insurance to tackling underlying inequities.
    • Forsyth County (Winston-Salem, NC) has formed a Healthy Communities Partnership and engaged partners to organize over 50 events throughout the county ranging from PTAs and book groups to a Health Summit aimed at broadening the discussion from individual to social solutions.
    • As a member of the Black Women's Agenda, the Chi Eta Phi nursing sorority is asking each chapter to drive members to broadcast as well as conduct local screenings to mobilize the community around pre-term delivery of African American babies using a racial justice framework.
    • San Francisco State University is developing online Continuing Education Credits (CE) and Transferable University Credits based on the series. Details available March 15 from San Francisco State Extended Learning.

    So far, more than 100 organizations have joined the Connect Up! database scheduled to launch with the official UNNATURAL CAUSES Web site March 20, 2008.
     
    Connect Up! is searchable by issue and geographic area and designed to link site visitors with organizations working to address the root causes of health inequities.
