HEALTH EQUITY INITIATIVES: The NIH-sponsored RIMI program sponsors faculty research in health inequity and disparity and provides stipends to selected students to work with faculty researchers, hosts a weekly seminar for students to learn about inequity and disparity, and preps continue in doctoral programs to further research in inequity and health disparity. The MPH program and the undergrad PHE program teaches students about the underlying foundation of social determinants of health and social justice, preparing students to make upstream changes to eliminate inequity and mitigate disparity.
