HEALTH EQUITY INITIATIVES: The mission of the Morehouse School of Medicine (MSM) is serving the community (local, state, national, international) -- especially those most in need. MSM is a recognized leader and resource in health disparities. We house a National Center of Excellence on Health Disparities and the Satcher Health Leadership Institute. Our departments train our medical students and residents to be culturally competent. Traditionally, MSM has had the highest number of graduates who enter their careers in inner cities and rural areas. Our students and residents also prepare to become public health advocates for the underserved. They receive their hospital training at one of the nation's largest public hospitals -- Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia.
