HEALTH EQUITY INITIATIVES: Due to lack of knowledge and access to dental care, low income populations suffer greater rates of oral health problems. More specifically, poor children sufer twice as many cavities as their weathier peers but they are 5 times less likely to receive oral health care. We are working to counterbalance these disparities by working with WIC and other divisions to provide access to care for low income populations in the county.
