HEALTH EQUITY INITIATIVES: We are a community collaborative of eight government and nonprofit organizations focused on children, youth and families in our community of about 100,000 people. Our local hospital/healthcare district, public health and Kaiser Permanente are members of our collaborative. We are beginning to use Unnatural Causes as the catalyst for dialogue about equity and health issues. We plan to conduct a series of community forums in 2009 to raise awareness about health inequities in our community and begin a dialogue about what action steps can be taken to improve health equity.

For over 10 years, our partner agencies have worked together to coordinate and deliver a range of health, mental health and social services through school-based resource centers.
