HEALTH EQUITY INITIATIVES: The R. I. Department of Health promotes safe and healthy lives in safe and healthy communities in order to help all Rhode Islanders achieve their optimal state of health. We do this by collaborating with partners in health care, workforce, school and community settings to define health, describe where health comes from, and apply individual, environmental and policy changes that will reduce disparities and help us achieve health equity.
