HEALTH EQUITY INITIATIVES: We screen 6 documentary films each year, each focused on some aspect of diversity. Every screening is free, and we offer free coffee/tea and snacks as well. After the films we facilitate a 45-60 minute discussion about the film. The mission of the Appreciating Diversity Film Series is to bring powerful documentaries that examine issues of diversity to community audiences. We aim to provide a venue that stimulates community dialogue about institutionalized power imbalances, broadens awareness, challenges assumptions, and encourages attendees to work towards a more just world.
