HEALTH EQUITY INITIATIVES: Our mission is to improve access to health care for our county's residents. We do this in many ways, including outreach about State subsidized health insurance programs, prescription assistance programs, the local free clinic, and many other local programs that can benefit low-income and uninsured community members. By offering the "Get Covered Info Line" (a local clearinghouse of information for health insurance options)and Prescription Medications Access Program (a voucher program for urgently needed medicines for people who lack medical insurance), doing local educational campaigns about issues around access to care, advocating for changes in health care policy at the State level using the data that our programs has collected, convening local stakeholders around issues of health inequity, gaps in services and how we can address these gaps, etc.
